Well here is the random thought of the day. Oh yeah.
Well, I have been doing this experiment. I have isolated myself from conversations hoping that someone will come to me and start a conversation. It has failed horribly. Today after S&W, when we were dismissed, everyone was engrossed in their own chatter. That was when I thought that I must be the one starting the conversation or I need to join a conversation so that I do not lose my contact with the social world.

Take the initiative. Engage them in a conversation, directed harmlessly to them -- people love to talk about themselves. Then keep your sentences short and concise. This is a start.
